Videogamers fans looking for a night out each week truly have a place to call home in Cleveland, Ohio! With the opening of Cleveland’s hub for geek culture, The Side Quest, GDL Entertainment is gathering CLE’s most hardcore & delightfully nerdy videogame fans together every Monday night for a full night of free console gaming.

It’s the perfect place to relive our gaming glory days. In addition to the 6 bar HDTVs (including an 80″ screen that was perfect for our June Mario Kart 8 tournament), we’ve got enough space to host classic and modern gaming throughout the entire bar. With Nintendo 64 Goldeneye 4-player showdowns on a projector screen and Super Smash Bros. Melee duels on the karaoke stage, Lakewood locals and the city’s best fighting-game players alike congregate each week for a real retro party.

Cleveland locals in June 2014 fought month-long for a Wii U Mario Kart 8 system bundle, as well, thanks to Big Fun Toys (one of the U.S.’s best games stores and an ally to local videogaming), The Side Quest, and Hori USA(makers of the world’s best professional gaming joysticks and controllers). Eventually a Top 4 emerged to show down in the final week, streamed live on ConsoleCombat’s sponsored Twitch channel. Who would win out? After an epic gauntlet, a winner emerged!

Running videogaming events is a true joy. We’re lucky that Cleveland has such a passionate gamerbase who will come out and support weekly videogame entertainment. Come join our group on MarioMondays and experience the fun hundreds of Cleveland gamers already have: Tecmo Bowl, NBA Jam, Legend of Zelda speedruns, Super NES classics with wireless play … whatever games you and your friends enjoy, we’ll make it happen!
